Antoine Giraud – Professional Writer – Aspiring Geek

Yep, that's me.

I am smitten with a love of the written word. My articles on culture, technology, the environment, and health have appeared in Think Equity, The Other Press, and alive magazine. My creative non-fiction and poetry have been published in Pearls and other anthologies.

As a professional wordsmith, I’ve produced reader-focused documents ranging from technical manuals to research reports for a number of clients.

I’m also an editor who interned at alive magazine during my time in the Print Futures Professional writing program. In addition to sniffing out errant commas, I edited content for Living Naturally’ s online software applications and for the newspaper Metro Canada. In my spare time, I run this website, read vociferously, and produce a weekly podcast.

I am a graduate of the esteemed Print Futures Professional Writing Program at Douglas College. Check out my portfolio to see the kind of work I produced there or visit their website to see what it’s all about.

As I mentioned above, I also worked recently as an assistant editor at alive magazine before going freelance. Go to their website and check them out – especially if you’re interested in health and wellness. You can also read articles I’ve been writing for them in my portfolio.

Currently, I’m working as a technical writer at Vtech, where I write Internal Product Specifications for engineers and other stakeholders. I work closely with the Project Manager and team leads to ensure that accurate information is being communicated clearly for product development and testing. In addition, I also assist with ISO documents, SRED applications, and patent issues. There’s a fair bit of user interface design thrown in there as well.
